Hong Kong style in France

A story of an exchange student

Hello ! I am Long Ki Wong. I am Chinese or you should call me a Hong Kong girl. I’ve come to France for a year on a culture exchange program, AFS.

Here, I would like to share my home, my life, my culture with you.

Hong Kong is a special administrative region (SAR) of China. Its name means a fragrant habour. It has its own government which is independent from China. Hong Kong is special because it once was a british colony for 99 years. Many aspects of Hong Kong culture are not the same as China. And of course, it’s a culture which is very different from France, too ! Therefore, I would like to share it with you.

Unlike most of you, I am not living in a house or I should say that is not common to live in a house in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong is a very small place. The total area is just 1,104 km2 but there are 7,061,200 people living in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong is a city famous for its night view.

There are many buildings with light decorations.

Here is Victoria Harbour.

It is one of the most famous tourists spots in Hong Kong.To cross Victoria Habour, you must have to take this ferry. It has been sailing across this harbour for over 50 years to ! We call it Stary Ferry.

Here is the Big Buddha.

It is a traditional Chinese temple in Hong Kong. Every year, there is a competition to run up to the stairs. To walk up to the top of the stairs, there are over 200 steps !!

This is Tsing Ma Bridge.

It is the world’s ninth-longest span suspension bridge, and was the second longest at time of completion. The bridge was named after two of the islands at its ends, namely Tsing Yi and Ma Wan.

We stop at here this time.

Please wait for my next passage ! Thank you ! ^ ^
